The huckleberry is the grizzly bears' favorite food. In honor of this delectable eatable, Whitefish Montana celebrates Huckleberry Days each fall.  The annual huckleberry harvest has become the reason to celebrate with music and entertainment.

Overview: Purple Huckleberry's is the theme for this three-day fall festival. Crafts, food, music, dancing all based around this lively little purple berry.

Details: The little purple fruit is native to the area and grows wild among the hills and valleys of the surrounding area. Join the community of Whitefish in this annual celebration. With over 100 artists displaying their goods, musicians and food contests. Most events take place in or around Depot Park in Whitefish

The event lasts for three days and includes many craft booths, an art fair, a pie-eating contest, and a treasure hunt. Local merchants get into the act by having great sidewalk sales. There is also a street dance and many other types of family fun. 

Come down and enjoy a huckleberry cook-off too. You can taste huckleberry flavored drinks, entrees, and dessert at any of the local eating establishments. This is an event meant to please the mind, body and palate.
